It had enough fruit and peat to be a well-balanced 1994 BOWMORE. BOWMORE 1994 19yo THE SCOTCH MALT WHISKY SOCIETY 3.212 55.7% One of 534 bottles, REFILL SHERRY BUTT The aroma features passion fruit, grapefruit zest, fish stock, seaweed, sea breeze, a touch of green grass, and a solid peat note. Upon drinking, it expands with passion fruit and grapefruit flavors, a strong sweet viscosity, light oak tannins, white pepper spice, intense peat, and the fruitiness with peat lingers long. [Good/Very Good] SMWS number 3 equals BOWMORE 1992, 19 years old. (※List of SMWS distillery codes here) The aroma starts with tropical fruits and grapefruit zest unique to BOWMORE, along with seaweed and briny nuances reminiscent of Islay, with a strong peat note asserting itself. When drinking, the BOWMORE-like fruits and peat were clearly present as in the aroma. Recently, SMWS releases have been notable for their cask strength yet not overly harsh mouthfeel, with a noticeable viscosity. Additionally, oak tannins and spices add depth, offering a long finish. While not surprising, it was an excellent bottle that met expectations for the deliciousness of 1990s BOWMORE cask strength. #BOWMORE (BOWMORE)
