LAPHROAIG 1994-2015 21yo VINTAGE MALT COOPERS CHOICE #3441 46%

The aroma featured grapefruit, plum, sherry with a concentrated feel, nuts, oil, and a solid barley presence. A strong peat note with iodine.
On the palate, it had a smooth mouthfeel with some viscosity, a moderate sherry character, diluted grape juice, gentle sweetness and tannins, iodine, and a strong smoky charcoal flavor. The finish was long.
【Good/Very Good】
This is a new release from Vintage Malt's Cooper's Choice, featuring LAPHROAIG distilled in 1994 and aged for 21 years.
The aroma, despite being a first fill, didn't have sherry as the dominant note. Instead, it had citrusy fruits and a concentrated powdery sensation reminiscent of good 90s LAPHROAIG, coexisting with the sherry character and strong peat.
Upon tasting, the sherry nuances felt stronger than the aroma suggested. Impressively, this sherry character had a grape-like juiciness that stood out. The smoky flavor with a charcoal-burnt sensation lingered long as the sherry character.
A first-fill sherry-aged Islay malt is already rare, and this LAPHROAIG had a rather good sherry character.
