This exceptionally rare Glenfiddich Sherry cask is astonishing in its quality. It is rich, drinkable sherry with a spicy and aromatic expansion, dried fruits, clove, bouquet garni, slightly flat but jammy dense sweetness, some juice-like sensation, strong woody character and tannic astringency reminiscent of grape skins, with minimal acidity. The rich finish continues with concentrated sweetness and tannins. 【Very Good】 This is a bottle of Glenfiddich's 1995 vintage bottled for the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival. Although purchased locally, it is an unusual first-fill Valrhona sherry cask for Glenfiddich. From the very beginning of the aroma, it offers a concentrated sherry character distinct from typical recent sherries, with no artificial nuances. It allows enjoyment of the good sherry cask's sweet and diverse elements such as concentrated fruits, chocolate, balsamic, herbs, and spices. Despite the expectation, the flavor matched the aroma's promise, with a slightly harsh tannin but rich sweetness and satisfying drinkability. The flavor differs from ordinary seasoned sherry casks, sparking curiosity about the barrel specifications used.
