It had a rather refined finish with some complexity.
Caperdonich CAPERDONICH 1995-2015 19yo SCOTCH MALT SALES 'TIR NAN OG' 52.1%
The aroma is elegant, with notes of orange, light peach, vanilla, custard, nuts, a pleasant grain and oak sensation. Upon drinking, it gradually expands with spicy undertones of orange, vanilla, and honey sweetness, balanced by a subtle tannin from oak. The finish is not overly long.
[Good/Very Good]
This new release from Scotch Malt Sales is the 'Tir Nan Og' Caperdonich 1995, aged for 19 years.
Tir Nan Og is part of the company's closed distillery series.
Although not specified, there are elegant nuances reminiscent of bourbon casks such as orange, vanilla, custard, and hints of peach-like maturity.
After uncorking, I believe these characteristics will become more emphasized with time passing since bottling.
The honey-like sweetness and well-balanced oak notes are pleasant, the distillery style is somewhat light-bodied with a short finish, but the smooth and pleasant ending is not bad at all.
