The flavor evoked the essence of Orange Arran.
Arran Isle of Arran 1996-2014 17yo OB for CAPMBELLTOUN LOCH & BAR CAOL ILA #1996/537 42% One of 74 bottles, Bourbon Barrel
The aroma was strong and floral, with orange liqueur, faint peach and pear, a touch of cream, estery for its maturation period, black tea, and barley from the depths. Upon drinking, the strong fruitiness similar to the aroma was joined by tropical fruits like pineapple, with a slightly viscous texture. The sweetness of orange had depth, and the umami of barley was subtly present. The body was unexpectedly robust, with a long finish.
[Good/Very Good]
Bottled by Campbelltown Loch and Bar Calila for Arran 1996, 17 years old. The aroma was strong and floral, with a clear sense of orange. Alongside cream, faintly sweet fruits like peach and pear emerged. Despite its 17 years, it had an estery maturation character.
When tasted, the fruitiness was diverse, with tropical fruits like pineapple also emerging. The rich sweetness and barley umami were impressive.
At 42%, it's quite reduced, but the body still felt maintained, with a long finish.
Usually, bottles with lower alcohol content for their maturation period often feel lacking or blurred in body, but this one felt solidly bodied.
The core charm was the orange-like fruitiness, with citrus and tropical notes, truly reminiscent of Orange Arran.
I think the cask might have had a similar specification. This one felt more natural in its fruity character.
Indeed, they've selected an excellent cask.
Honestly, I found it much more delicious than the sample I tasted earlier.
