Pulteney PULTENEY 1997-2015 Own Bottling for Royal Mile Whiskies #774 55.7%, one of 210 bottles
Bottle #プルトニー(PULTENEY)
As expected, this is a Pulteney with a pronounced Valinch flavor profile. Pulteney PULTENEY 1997-2015 Own Bottling for Royal Mile Whiskies #774 55.7% one of 210 bottles ・Aroma: For a Pulteney, this is an exceptionally floral and diverse aroma with notes of fruity, apple juice, peach nectar, muscat, fresh orange, pineapple juice, young leaves, chamomile tea, vanilla, a touch of cream, honey, pleasant barley notes, and strong orange oil. ・Flavor: Smooth and viscous texture, but gradually develops a peppery sharpness and spiciness. A mix of apple and peach juices, orange, chamomile tea, a matured barley umami, honey's rich sweetness, citrus acidity with a strong brininess, and an oily, long finish. The drinking experience is pleasant. ・Dilution: Adding water brings out a cider-like nuance, but the drinkability remains, and it's still delicious. ・Overall Evaluation: A single cask that combines the Howl style and vibrant fruitiness I thought were exclusive to Valinch. Extremely delicious, there's no fault in this as a new release 90s Pulteney. 【Very Good】 The Pulteney 1997, approximately 18 years old, recently bottled for Royal Mile Whiskies, a whisky shop in Edinburgh. As I mentioned when I drank it at Yorikamachi, this bottle, known as Valinch or Handfill, often showcases the pronounced fruity character. While the Japanese authorized distributor, San'yo Sangyo, bottled a version that was orthodox and representative of the house style, this bottle had an obvious plus alpha with the same specifications, which honestly made me envious. To be able to bottle something like this, it's no wonder it's a local whisky shop with a proven track record. I'm sure that if the standard bottle sales increase, such bottlings will also come out for Japan. As a rare distillery where the house style is easy to understand and the standard is delicious, I'd like to support more of its deliciousness becoming mainstream.
