Balblair BALBLAIR 1997-2016 OB Hand Bottling #1715 52.8%
Bottle #バルブレア(BALBLAIR)
A well-crafted Balblair, with clear evidence of selecting quality casks. Balblair BALBLAIR 1997-2016 OB Hand Bottling #1715 52.8% The aroma is floral and fruity, with notes of orange liqueur, apricot, slightly oily and creamy, a moderate malty character, and coconut cookie. On the palate, it delivers concentrated orange juice or oil, juicy and rich sweetness, vanilla cream, a malty depth from the background, a full-bodied, rich texture with a long finish. [Good/Very Good] This Balblair 1997 was bottled during the Scottish tour, aged for approximately 19 years. Although not specified, the aroma suggests aging in an exceptional bourbon cask, with a diverse range of fruity notes centered around citrus depth. Combined with a moderate malty character, the oily and coconut-like nuances create a pleasant impression reminiscent of coconut cookies. The finish delivers on the aroma's promise, with juicy fruity notes and a rich sweetness, possessing thickness and a bold character yet remaining smooth with a long-lasting finish. Aged thoroughly in a good bourbon cask and bottled before its decline, this is a nice release. While the individuality isn't extremely pronounced, it's delicious enough to make one hesitate between Good and Very Good. Its high level of completion justifies its selection for hand bottling, and I was satisfied with the result. #Balblair (BALBLAIR)
