Highland Park HIGHLAND PARK 1997-2016 18yo DOUGLAS LAING XTRA OLD PARTICULAR #11364 54%
One of 285 bottles, REFILL HOGSHEAD
The aroma was fresh citrus, honey, pleasant barley notes, a touch of vanilla cream, fresh herbs, and a hint of mineral and peat.
When drinking it, there was a gradual spicy-sweet citrus flavor, sweet honey with body, a touch of saltiness, and a pleasant aftertaste of fresh herbs and peat.
[Good/Very Good]
This is a new release of Highland Park 1997, matured for 18 years from Douglas Laing's premium range, the Xtra Old Particular.
It seems that it did not enter Japan, so a friend found it on an overseas site and brought it to Yurakucho.
What was impressive were the nuances of fresh herbs rather than heather, in addition to the characteristic honey-like notes, and there was also a clear peat presence.
This Highland Park gave off a Herb & Honey feeling, with the bourbon cask nuances subtly enhancing its flavor and making it delicious.
