Justerini & Brooks malt whisky 20yo 40% Early 1970s

It had the flavor of that distillery. Justerini & Brooks malt whisky 20yo 40% Early 1970s The aroma has a pleasant old-world feel, very floral and fruity, with grapefruit rind, orange peel, old white wine, white flowers, dried barley, caramel, dustiness, nuts, and a hint of old peat. When drinking, it starts with a smooth mouthfeel that expands into a vibrant array of grapefruit and wilted citrus rind, dried barley with a sense of aged dryness, refined sweetness and acidity. Gradually, earthiness and old peat emerge from the depths, creating a nostalgic flavor with depth and aged character. This bottle of Justerini & Brooks malt whisky, known colloquially as J&B Malt, was circulated in the early 1970s. It is believed to be made from distillates produced before the 1950s, with the content reportedly being Knockando or a vatting primarily of that whisky. Regarding its contents, considering the years since bottling, the aroma exhibits excellent condition with a strong old-world character. It is very vibrant and diverse in its fruity notes, enhanced by floral nuances, dried barley, a dusty texture, and an old peat character, creating an intoxicating aroma. Upon tasting, it initially felt slightly light but similarly offered a diverse and vibrant array of fruits. The refined sweetness and acidity were also impressive. From the depths, a rich barley character, earthiness, and old peat gradually emerge, evoking a nostalgic flavor with the depth of bygone times. Honestly speaking, it reminded me greatly of my favorite old bottles of pre-1960s Knockando. While its condition is good, I believe its peak drinking period has long passed. Nevertheless, it still retains enough luster to make one hesitate between 'Good' and 'Very Good' ratings. It was an excellent old bottle. This bottle was kindly provided to me as part of the 9th anniversary celebration at Hogo Hall in Takadama. Congratulations! #Knockando (KNOCKANDO) #Distillery Unknown
