Recent Release: Bowmore 2000 13 Year Old The Nectar of the Daily Drams Maison du Whisky
Bottle #ボウモア(BOWMORE)
A joint venture between Nectar and Maison, it certainly doesn't disappoint.
Bowmore BOWMORE 2000-2013 13yo THE NECTAR OF THE DAILY DRAMS with La Maison du Whisky 51.9%
The aroma is fruity, passion fruit-like, pineapple, banana cream, strong peat and barley notes, a hint of clay. Upon drinking, the tropical fruitiness similar to the aroma is present, with a faint paper-like quality, umami from barley and seafood stock, strong peat, and a long finish. [Good/Very Good]
This Bowmore 2000, aged for 13 years, is a collaboration between Belgium's The Nectar and France's Maison du Whisky. It strongly conveys the tropical fruitiness of Bowmore, such as passion fruit and pineapple, while also showcasing the barley notes typical of short-matured whiskies and the assertive peat characteristic of Islay.
When drinking, a slightly paper-like quality typical of 2000s Bowmore is faintly noticeable but masked by the strong fruits and peat, remaining within acceptable limits. The umami from barley and seafood stock also adds to the drinkability, making it a delicious Bowmore.
Given that this is a collaboration between these two companies, I had expected it to be good, but it exceeded my expectations based on the specifications.
