Pulteney PULTENEY 2000-2012 Jean Boyer BEST CASKS of SCOTLAND 43%
Bottle #プルトニー(PULTENEY)
There is no complexity, but it has a house style and is easy to drink. Pulteney PULTENEY 2000-2012 Jean Boyer BEST CASKS of SCOTLAND 43% The aroma has orange, vanilla, oil, a youthful barley note. When drinking, it is soft with gentle sweetness of orange and honey, the umami of barley, saltiness, and an oily finish. [Good] From Jean Boyer's Best Casks of Scotland in France, this Pulteney 2000 is a diluted bottle with about 12 years of aging. It lacks complexity and retains youthfulness in the barley note, but when drinking, it has rich umami with fruity, honey sweetness and a characteristic oily nuance. Despite the youth of the 2000 distillation, it gives a sense of house style while being well-crafted. If it were bottled at cask strength, it might have been more robust and complex, but I think the dilution had a positive effect, resulting in a smoother, less monotonous finish.
