New Release: Arran 2000-2015 15 Year Old Official Bottling for Whiskybase 'My Precious' #2000/135
Bottle #アイルオブアラン(ISLE OF ARRAN)
A malt that seemed to add sherry flavor to the young barley's umami.
Arran ISLE OF ARRAN 2000-2015 15yo OB for WHISKYBASE 'My Precious' #2000/135 56.9%
One of 220 bottles, SHERRY HOGSHEAD
The aroma had young barley with a slightly spirit-like grappa nuance, followed by sherry notes that chased after it like plum jam on a danish.
When drinking, the rich umami of the barley was chewy and intense, with sweet plum jam flavors, a full body, oak, and spicy heat that carried through to the finish.

This year's official bottling of Arran 2000, aged for 15 years, intended for Whiskybase.
Honestly, the aging impression felt less than 15 years, with spirit-like grappa nuances and a strong sense of youth rather than integration with the cask.
The rough barley and sherry notes that chased after it each made their own claims.
Among Arran's typically quick-finished expressions, this one felt particularly unfinished, lacking the high completion as a whisky.
That said, it wasn't unenjoyable; the chewy barley umami and sherry notes could be enjoyed separately, and strangely, there was no unpleasant feeling after drinking.
Personally, I find the straightforward rough flavors more enjoyable than expressions where aging brings out disliked elements.
