Aged for approximately 16 years, it is finished as a Double Matured Distillers Edition. While I believe this is a double matured sherry cask finish, the skillful dilution and water addition prevent any forced flavoring sensations. Notes from bourbon cask origins (citrus, vanilla) and sherry cask origins (plum, chocolate) are both present. The mouthfeel has viscosity, with a stronger fruity nuance than the aroma, and the flavor balance is good. The maltiness has a youthful freshness that's pleasant. While it lacks grand scale, it is surprisingly diverse and well-rounded in character, offering good value for money.
