It was much more delicious than I imagined from the vintage. BOWMORE 2001-2013 12yo BLACKADDER RAW CASK #20063 58.5% one of 312 bottles, HOGSHEAD The aroma is strong and fruity with passion fruit, pineapple, a strong but not harsh peat, smoke, good barley notes. When drinking, it has a strong attack but is not prickly, with solid tropical fruit like passion fruit, good barley notes and a strong peaty smoke, rich sweetness, and a long finish. 【Good/Very Good】 This is a relatively recent bottling from the BLACKADDER RAW CASK series, a single cask of BOWMORE 2001 aged for 12 years. The aroma showcases a prominent tropical note with passion fruit, typical of BOWMORE. As it is young, the peat and barley notes are also strong. When drinking, although the attack is strong, there's no sense of immaturity. As with the aroma, a clear tropical note, barley notes and peat are well present, with a long and straightforward finish. For the 2001 vintage, I usually find many with a paper-like texture that I dislike, but this bottle hardly showed any of that. With no sense of immaturity and a clear BOWMORE character, as well as an Islay malt character, this was a very good bottle.
