Bowmore BOWMORE 2002-2014 12yo THE WHISKY AGENCY 'Mollusc & Medusa' 53.2% one of 348 bottles, REFILL HOGSHEAD
Bottle #ボウモア(BOWMORE)
As expected from an agency, this is a well-aged Bowmore. Bowmore BOWMORE 2002-2014 12yo THE WHISKY AGENCY 'Mollusc & Medusa' 53.2% one of 348 bottles, REFILL HOGSHEAD The aroma is elegant, featuring tropical fruits in the passion fruit category, group fruits, vanilla, seaweed, and a strong peat smoke. Upon drinking, it starts with a smooth mouthfeel, expanding into the same tropical fruits in the passion fruit category, vanilla, a rich sweetness, good oak, and a long finish with fruity notes and a slightly robust peat. 【Good/Very Good】 This is the Bowmore 2002, aged for 12 years, from The Whisky Agency's latest marine life series. While post-2000 Bowmores often have a paper-like texture and artificial tropical notes, this bottle avoids such drawbacks. It is a high-quality bottling that clearly exhibits Bowmore's tropical passion fruit and grapefruit characteristics, along with the seaweed and peat typical of Islay. The vanilla and oak from what seems to be a bourbon hogshead also add depth without overpowering the flavor. Interestingly, it seems that The Whisky Agency's Bowmores from post-2000 distillations often avoid this paper-like texture, which Kausten might also dislike. #Bowmore (BOWMORE)
