New Release: Tomatin 2002-2016 14yo Official ROBBIE’S WHISKY MERCHANTS #1800 54.3%
Bottle #トマーティン(TOMATIN)
A deliciousness that doesn't feel young or high in alcohol content.
Tomatin TOMATIN 2002-2016 14yo OB for ROBBIE'S WHISKY MERCHANTS #1800 54.3% One of 213 bottles
The aroma is elegant, with orange and apple, faint pear, vanilla, strong malt, oak, and faint cinnamon or coconut.
When drinking, it's not harsher than the alcohol content, with orange, sweet baked apple pie, a light honey sweetness, moderate oak, and a pleasant finish.
[Good/Very Good]
This is a single cask Tomatin 2002, aged for 14 years, bottled for the shop ROBBIE'S WHISKY MERCHANTS.
According to the label, it's also written as being for a whisky festival, but details are unclear.
I didn't know this shop existed, but upon checking, it's a store located in the town of Air (near Ayrshire), Scotland, which also operates online.
Although the distillation date is after 2000 and the aging period isn't particularly long, the alcohol content has mellowed well, resulting in a good balance and complex aroma.
As expected for its youth, the maltiness is strong but not harsh, complemented by a variety of fruity notes, giving an overall impression reminiscent of sweet baked pies.
For its age, it's quite well-finished, giving the impression that a good cask was selected.
I thought I'd try checking out online shops occasionally.
