EDRADOUR 2003-2014 SIGNATORY VINTAGE for La Maison du Whisky ARTIST#3 #61 56.6% - One of 221 bottles, Bourbon Barrel
The aroma is elegant with notes of orange, green apple, vanilla, honey, oak, and barley. Upon drinking, it reveals youthful barley with umami, green apple, honey sweetness, and a stronger oak character with some bitterness, yet the flavors are well-balanced. [Good]
This bottling by Signatory for La Maison du Whisky is Edradour 2003, aged approximately 11 years. It exhibits a floral aroma typical of recent bourbon cask maturation, with clear nuances of orange, green apple, vanilla, and honey characteristic of bourbon cask maturation. Upon tasting, it shows youthfulness alongside umami-rich barley notes and a pleasant honey sweetness. While there is some oaky bitterness, it's not overly intense. Edradour has long been associated with a perfumy character, but recent releases seem different. I was surprised to find no perfume notes in this bottle. Conversely, the distillery's individuality was barely perceptible, likely due to bottling from a bourbon barrel (probably first fill), resulting in a well-crafted bottle despite the approximately 11-year maturation.
