This bottling commemorates the 10th anniversary since Benriach Distillery acquired Benriach and reopened the distillery.
This time, they selected four barrels from the first week of reopening.
Though relatively young, it doesn't just highlight youthfulness; fruity elements often found in Benriach such as pineapple and peach are clearly expressed in both aroma and flavor.
It seems the casks allow components to come out well within 10 years, with a strong oak presence that isn't unpleasant.
While lacking complexity or cohesion, the cask characteristics are well-expressed for 10 years, without the harshness often associated with youth, clearly emphasizing Benriach's charm even in its younger form.
Perhaps it might become more cohesive and delicious with time.
Congratulations on 10 years since reopening.
