Bottle #ロングロウ(LONGROW)
Among three types, it was the freshest and youngest in character. Longrow LONGROW 2005-2015 9yo OB? #783 55.1% Refill Bourbon Hogshead The aroma features fresh orange, citrus, green apple, vanilla, strong raw ham, pronounced peat, sea breeze, minerals, seafood stock. Upon drinking, it delivers a spicy sensation that gradually builds, with a slightly powdery, concentrated texture and chewy mouthfeel. Notes of grapefruit pith bring acidity and astringency, youthful barley character, distinct saltiness, tightening oak, and a slightly long peaty finish with some brininess. 【Good/Very Good】 This Longrow 2005, aged for nine years, was released during this year's Cambuslang Festival Open Day and available for purchase at the Cadenhead shop. Among dozens of options, I tasted this Longrow alongside two Springbank Local Barley varieties. The nose showcases the carbon cask maturation's fresh citrus and green apple notes, along with vanilla, alongside Longrow's characteristic strong peat, raw ham, and seafood stock aromas. The palate offers a slightly powdery, concentrated texture with chewy mouthfeel, grapefruit pith acidity and astringency, youthful barley character with savory umami, and a briny finish typical of Longrow. Unlike the two Bank varieties (which were first-fill), this refill cask Longrow felt younger despite its longer aging period. However, it wasn't immature or unbalanced - a concentrated, flavorful Longrow with clear character.
