New Release: Talisker 2008 5 Year Old Kingsbary #10264

It was a very young whisky but I found it interesting. Talisker TALISKER 2008 5yo KINGSBURY #10264 59.4% one of 287 bottles, Bourbon cask The aroma has citrus, young strong barley, cinnamon, new make alcohol and stimulation, strong peat smoke, coconut. When drinking it is quite new make like with a stimulating character but the barley's umami is rich, citrus and smoke, nuts, slightly oily but with a tingling aftertaste. 【Okay, Interesting】 This is a single cask Talisker 2008, 5 year old from the new release by Kingsbary. As it has not been bottled for long and is only 5 years old, I felt a very new make like immature nuance from the aroma to the flavor. I can clearly feel the young barley and rough peat, but overall it lacks cohesion with each element asserting itself. Peaty whiskies often mask the immature feel, and I think many young ones are still delicious. However, this bottle has little maturity, and honestly, it doesn't seem like the right time to drink. I don't understand the intention behind bottling it at this stage, but there are parts where it can be enjoyed as a spirit, and it also became a valuable experience to understand the aging process.
