New Release: Lagavulin 2009-2015 6 Year Old Whisky-Fassle
Bottle #ラガヴーリン(LAGAVULIN)
A delicious Islay Malt that is surprisingly well-crafted for its youth.
Lagavulin LAGAVULIN 2009-2015 6yo WHISKY-FASSLE 52.3% Hogshead
The aroma is strong with a prosciutto ham-like quality, nuts, orange or apricot jam, slightly cereal-like dry barley notes, a strong peat with iodine, cheese-like qualities, and rich for its youth.
When drinking, it starts with an unexpectedly smooth mouthfeel expanding into the sweetness of apricot jam, young barley's umami, seafood nuances, rich sweetness, strong saltiness, and a strong peat with an oily finish.
[Good/Very Good]
A recently bottled Islay Malt by WHISKY-FASSLE, distilled in 2009 and aged for six years. Though some parts may be masked by the strong peat, the aroma is surprisingly complex for a six-year-old whisky. It offers a slightly youthful barley note alongside diverse fruity, nutty, and cheese-like rich aromas. Upon tasting, it begins with a smooth, slightly viscous mouthfeel that expands powerfully, featuring Lagavulin's jam-like sweetness, barley umami, briny notes from the sea, and a robust peat character. It's impressive that such a high-quality cask was bottled with these specifications.
