Bottle #秩父(CHICHIBU)
The fresh cask character is strong, but it's skillfully finished. Chichibu CHICHIBU 2009-2015 OB Ichiro's Malt for Tokyo International Bar Show 2015 #2360 62.3% one of 299 bottles, Fresh Oak Cask The aroma is sweet, with apricot jam, cinnamon-spiced apple pie, concentrated black tea, a strong woody character reminiscent of pencil shavings, slightly oily and rich. On the palate, it has a smooth mouthfeel with buttered nuts, pineapple, and a concentrated sweet apple pie flavor. It has body with oak tannins and astringency, leaving a rich finish. 【Good】 Bottled for this year's bar show, this Chichibu 2009 was aged for approximately 6 years in fresh casks. The aroma is gentle, with nuances reminiscent of a midday tea time featuring cinnamon-spiced apple pie and strong black tea. At the same time, I could strongly sense the woody character reminiscent of pencil shavings typical of fresh casks. Upon tasting, despite its high alcohol content, it lacks sharpness and offers the same apple pie-like nuances as the aroma, with additional notes of pineapple. The rich sweetness is enjoyable. While the woody character and astringency from fresh casks felt slightly strong, I believe this is a well-crafted malt that has matured for 6 years. For those who don't mind the woody character and astringency of fresh casks, this is a remarkably rich malt for its short aging period.
