While the barley character does exhibit a youthful quality, there's no unpleasant rawness. The fruitiness from the PX finish seamlessly integrates with the overall profile. Notes of plum and yuzu-like citrus fruits, their sweetness, a briny quality reminiscent of the sea, savory barley depth, and assertive Islay peat all come together in a well-balanced finish that significantly elevates the whisky's maturity.
