Paul Giraud Sparkling Grape Juice 2014
#その他
This year's Paul Giraud Sparkling Grape Juice has arrived once again. I have been purchasing it every year since 2007, and I wrote about the 2012 and 2013 versions. The Paul Giraud Sparkling Grape Juice, made entirely from unblended grape juice (a raw material for Cognac), comes out around this time every year. While it's not an inexpensive juice, it has surprisingly versatile uses beyond just family consumption, so I purchased a case as usual this year.

As I wrote last year, the color has been getting lighter each year, and this year's version is even more diluted. In terms of taste, it gave a similar impression to last year's, with a gentle balance of sweetness and acidity that made it easy to drink. Compared to the days when the flavor was exceptionally rich, the carbonation seems to have also become more subdued.
I arranged them side by side according to their vintages, including this year's version.
From left to right: 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, and this year's 2014.
(※The products from 2011 and earlier have passed their expiration date, so some sediment is visible.)
The photo was taken slightly to the right side, which resulted in an exaggerated difference in color. However, even when compared under the same conditions, it's clear that the color has been getting lighter year by year.
While I have nostalgic feelings for the days when the sweetness was so intense it felt overwhelming, this year's juice was still delicious. For this Christmas, I plan to toast with my daughter using it. Although I don't know if this trend will continue next year, I'm looking forward to it. Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas.
