Tomatin 25 Year Old Official Bottling 43%
Bottle #トマーティン(TOMATIN)
A clear sense of fruitiness was felt.
Tomatin TOMATIN 25yo OB 43%
The aroma is strong fruity, with pineapple and peach, a touch of guava, and a slightly chemical-like sensation.
When drinking, it starts with a smooth mouthfeel, expanding similarly to the aroma—chemical and tropical notes are present but not overt. There's a hint of Cognac, with well-balanced sweetness and acidity, more body than expected, and a fruity finish.
[Good/Very Good]
The official Tomatin 25 Year Old is believed to have been released around the year 2000.
Working backward, this suggests distillation in the mid-1970s. This was around the same time as the production of highly tropical expressions like 1976.
While not overtly fruity, it lacks the boldness of those expressions. In turn, its chemical-like sensation is more subdued, giving it a rather natural maturation feel.
Perhaps due to its lack of pronounced fruitiness, the 43% ABV Tomatin has a more substantial body, resulting in a stable fruity malt.
