Springbank 27 Year James MacArthur's Scotch Whisky 500th Anniversary Bottle

#スプリングバンク(SPRINGBANK)
As expected from the specs, this was an outstanding 1960s Springbank. Springbank SPRINGBANK 27yo JAMES MACARTHUR'S In Celebration 500 Years of Scotch Whisky 1494-1994 49.1% The aroma was very floral, with slightly under-ripe freeze-dried strawberries, premium white wine, citrus and green apple. It had a matured yet fresh character with young leaves, syrup, and a subtle peat note emerging from the background. On the palate, it had a smooth mouthfeel with the same freeze-dried strawberry and green apple notes as the aroma, fresh citrus, fruity sweetness and acidity, a sufficient amount of saltiness, and a long finish with a faint peat. [Very Good] One of the commemorative bottlings for the 500th anniversary of Scotch whisky, this Springbank 27yo was bottled in 1994 to mark the 500 years since the first recorded mention of aqua vitae (whisky) in 1494. This is part of a series I greatly admire, which includes the Ardmore. This time, six different expressions including Ardmore were released simultaneously. Working backward, it's likely from around 1967. The bottle has a strong sherry influence, but this is a plain cask style Springbank with a floral and diverse range of fruits, including notes reminiscent of freeze-dried strawberries. Tasting it also revealed a diverse range of fruity sweetness and acidity, with a clear saltiness and a subtle peat note. It was very delicious. With this spec, it's hard not to have high expectations, and while I had wanted to try this bottle for a long time, it lived up to the anticipation with its delicious flavor. #Springbank (SPRINGBANK)
