GlenGlassaugh 37 Year Old Official Rare Cask Series
Bottle #グレングラッサ(GLENGLASSAUGH)
The second whisky was a rich and thick type, quite different from the first.
GlenGlassaugh GLENGLASSAUGH 37yo OB RARE CASK SERIES 54.8%
The aroma is rich and diverse, with notes of apricot jam, ripe orange, faintly guava, oak, strong nuts, buttery oils, vanilla, honey, a slightly moist and savory barley character, with a pronounced woody quality accompanied by faint resinous hints.
When tasted, it lacks immediate stimulation but has a strong flavor profile: ripe orange, a smooth sweetness of honey and jam, a rich body with pronounced barley depth, strong oak influence, thick-bodied, light peat, and an oily, rich finish that lingers long.
[Good/Very Good]

These bottles were kindly provided for tasting by the malt community in Toyama.
As described above, the tasting experience was so extensive that a multitude of diverse elements emerged in both aroma and flavor. It was an intensely rich whisky.
Particularly notable were the well-preserved barley character and its savory depth, despite its long aging, along with a thick-bodied structure. However, the strong oak influence and rich, dense flavor profile made it slightly tiring to drink.
While completely different from sherry influences, in that sense, it shared similarities with the North American-market Glensa 1974 I previously wrote about.
The satisfaction from a single glass is exceptionally high.
