Scapa SCAPA 8yo GM 57% 1970s Bottling
The aroma has a pleasant old-world feel, with dried fruits like orange and apricot, a well-rounded yet strong malt that tastes delicious, honey, and rock candy.
When you drink it, it spreads powerfully with a dry orange peel scent similar to the aroma, white wine, a light pinkish hue, and a deep, strong malt that lingers on the tongue. The sweetness is restrained but has a smooth richness, with a straight and long finish.
【Very Good】
This is Scapa 8 year old bottled at 100 proof by GM in the 1970s.
I would like to express respect for bottling at cask strength during that era.
The cask seems somewhat refillery-like, but the cask character is not very strong and has a slightly plain aroma. It's short-ripened and high proof, so it must have been quite a rough whisky at the time of bottling.
Plain and high proof whiskies are generally difficult to age further in bottles, but after about 40 years, it has developed a slightly concentrated fruity character and nuances reminiscent of white wine, with a refined depth of malt flavor that is enjoyable.
It has an aroma reminiscent of the time after bottling, making it a wonderful bottle.
