New Release: Glenlivet Official Cipher

Glenlivet GLENLIVET OB "CIPHER" 48%
Bottle #グレンリベット(GLENLIVET)
Slightly youthful but surprisingly diverse in its character. Glenlivet GLENLIVET OB "CIPHER" 48% The aroma features fresh orange, vanilla, apple, cream, a touch of youthful cinnamon and ginger, diluted honey, a moderate graininess, and robust oak. On the palate, it expands with youthful spiciness, orange oil, vanilla, a slightly fresh grainy quality and its umami, the sweetness of honey with body, strong oak, chestnut, and a faint woody nuance reminiscent of first-fill bourbon or virgin oak casks. The finish is rich and pleasant. [Good/Very Good] This is Glenlivet's new release, "Cipher". Following the previous "Alpha", it is a malt whose contents remain undisclosed, and once again comes in a true black bottle. Despite its youthfulness in aroma, the cask influence is evident. It's not merely a youthful, grainy single malt but also exhibits fruitiness like apple and orange, along with vanilla, cream, and robust oak. In the latter part of its flavor profile, a faint woody nuance reminiscent of first-fill bourbon or virgin oak casks was subtly detected. However, this only added to the impression that it is well-balanced and flavorful. While it has a youthful character, there's a good quality of spirit underneath, suggesting that the cask aging process has worked well. By the way, regarding the secret of Cipher, I couldn't find any particularly unique or special nuances, so it remains a complete mystery. (laughs) #Glenlivet (GLENLIVET)
