Glenfiddich GLENFIDDICH CASK COLLECTION VINTAGE CASK 40%
Bottle #グレンフィディック(GLENFIDDICH)
A surprisingly delicious peated whisky. Glenfiddich GLENFIDDICH CASK COLLECTION VINTAGE CASK 40% The aroma is elegant, with ripe orange, vanilla, rich oak, strong sweet chestnuts, nuts, pronounced smoke, faint tar. The mouthfeel is smooth, with orange, a touch of peach, and a strong peat that follows. The sweetness of orange or honey, good oak, and the smoky and fruity finish linger pleasantly. [Good/Very Good] This Vintage Cask comes from the recently released Cask Collection series by Glenfiddich. It seems to have been created with an awareness of old flavors, using peated malt. Additionally, this series includes other variants such as SELECT CASK and RESERVE CASK with different specifications. Originally, it appears to be a series without vintage or aging duration labels, intended for tax-free markets. According to the label, it seems to be produced using a method similar to Solera Reserve. Regarding the essential content, it's good and slightly surprising. The aroma is elegant, with a strong peat centered on fruits and rich oak. When drinking, the impression of the aroma is surpassed by a diverse fruity sensation and sweet richness, along with good oak nuances, leading to a pleasant finish without any roughness. It's not complex, but the rich flavor is unexpected for a 40% ABV whisky. It has elegance and the peat doesn't mask any immature notes. Interestingly, it's clearly different from typical island malts in its peat character. Most importantly, it's a well-crafted, flavorful whisky that is enjoyable to drink. The price is also reasonable, making it a cost-effective bottle.
