Bell's Signature Blend Limited Edition 40%
Bottle #インチガワー(INCHGOWER) #ブレンデッド・ヴァッテッド(blended or vatted malt)
This was a rare blended malt. Bell's Signature Blend Limited Edition 40% The aroma features ripe orange, dried apricot, a gentle and rustic barley note, with hints of milk chocolate and tea. Upon drinking, it offers a smooth mouthfeel, dry orange, a moderate jam-like sweetness balanced by astringency, lingering barley notes, some bitterness, yet a rich aftertaste. 【Good】 The limited edition Signature Blend from Bell, a blended malt (vatted malt) primarily composed of Blair Athol and Inchgower, which are key malts for Bell. It's intriguing that a major company released a blend centered around two minor malt types. There is no caramel addition, and thus no sherry-like notes in the color. However, the aroma conveys ripe fruits, a creamy milk chocolate sensation, and a rustic barley character. The smooth mouthfeel is impressive, with a well-balanced combination of moderate sweetness and astringency. The barley notes are present, and despite being 40% ABV with added water, it doesn't feel diluted. Unexpectedly rich in flavor with a distinctive bitterness, these characteristics may be what define its identity as a vatted malt rather than an ordinary blended whisky. It has a satisfying depth of flavor typical of a malt whisky, and with a price tag around ¥1500 per bottle, it offers good value for money. #Inchgower (INCHGOWER) #Blended Vatted Malt (blended or vatted malt)
