New Release: Islay Single Malt for BAR OLD & Public Bar Islands - Chibaraki Tamashii
#蒸留所不明
A fresh, youthful Islay Malt.
Islay Single Malt for BAR OLD & Public Bar Islands 57.1%, bottled in 2015.
The aroma is youthful and fresh, with notes of lemon, banana, grass, young barley, slightly new pot stills, sea breeze, sharp peatiness, and a strong smoky iodine character.
When drunk, it is sharply spicy, with citrusy, crisp sweetness, strong acidity and saltiness, a youthful yet chewy barley umami, seaweed, and smoky charcoal notes that linger long.

This bottling, labeled 'Chibaraki Tamashii,' was created for BAR OLD in Chiba and Public Bar Islands in Itsukushima. As the third release following Bowmore and Littlemill, it is an Islay Single Malt without distillery or aging information.
It's a very fresh, heavily peated malt with a strong Islay youthful spirit character. While the intense peat masks some aspects, the youthfulness of the aroma is evident.
It's clear that bottling original Islay Malt as a standalone bottle presents high difficulty. However, it has a concentrated texture with chewy barley umami and a bold smoky character, making it an interesting Islay Malt. This is certainly enjoyable in its own right.
