Recent Release: Bowmore 'Bw3' Specialty Drinks Elements of Islay

Bowmore BOWMORE THE WHISKY EXCHANGE ELEMENTS OF ISLAY 'Bw3' 51.6%
Bottle #ボウモア(BOWMORE)
The lessening of the paper-like characteristics, this recent Bowmore is fruity. Bowmore BOWMORE THE WHISKY EXCHANGE ELEMENTS OF ISLAY 'Bw3' 51.6% The aroma is elegant and strong with fruity notes, plum jam, tropical fruits, light sherry, slightly heavy, the peat is moist and strong, with a faint paper-like maltiness. Upon drinking, it has the same intense fruity notes as the aroma, with tropical fruits, a viscous texture, rich and sweet flavor. The good peat blends well with the fruit and lingers long. [Good/Very Good] The Elements of Islay from Specialty Drinks (Whisky Exchange), Bw3 is the third bottling in this series for Bowmore. The aroma has a clear tropical fruitiness typical of Bowmore, and also gives a rich fruity sensation reminiscent of sherry casks. A slight paper-like quality common in recent Bowmore is faintly noticeable, but the peat is well-presented without being overpowering. Upon drinking, both tropical and jam-like sensations are felt, with a slightly viscous and sweet, rich flavor. Though the maturation period seems not very long, the impression is of a well-balanced fusion of peat and fruit. This Elements of Islay Bowmore, like the first release in the series, combines tropical fruits and sherry-like fruitiness. I reviewed the first bottle at home and wrote an article about it, but this one also follows a similar fruity direction. Perhaps the original spirit is slightly young, and I did notice a bit of that paper-like quality I usually dislike, but it's largely masked by the fruit and peat, so even my sensitive palate didn't find it too bothersome. A deliciously rich Bowmore.
